Binghamton University Preparing to Name New Police Chief
The search process for a new police chief at Binghamton University is nearing an end.
Timothy Faughnan, the current chief, was appointed to the newly-created position of associate vice president for emergency services at the university as part of a reorganization.
Faughnan on Friday said the search has resulted in three finalists being chosen. They are the university police deputy chief Patrick Reilly, university police Lieutenant John Pelletier and Broome County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Sammy Davis.
Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Faughnan said the interview process for the candidates is being wrapped up.
Faughnan said the search committee will be able to make an announcement regard the next police chief this month. He said at that point, he'll vacate the position then dedicate his time to overseeing the university's emergency services operations.
