I love Binghamton Restaurant Week! This is about the only time I get outside my comfort zone and try new things. And everyone should do that occasionally. There are many quality restaurants in the area, and this is your chance to sample them. We are in the last three days, so here is a reason to take advantage of this chance.

I decided to choose Crepe Heaven, at 217 Main Street, for lunch today. How could I not when a Philly Cheese Steak Crepe is on the menu? Did I mention all the dishes are homemade? Maida, the owner, was lovely to deal with and so was our server.

My friend Sherry went along and to warm up a bit, we had the beef and vegetable soup. It was a nice balance of veggies and ground beef with a hint of spices.

For the main course, I got the Philly Cheese Steak Crepe. It, honestly, took me right back to Philadelphia. The blend of cheese, beef and bell peppers was just like back home and the peppers weren't hard (you know how that can ruin a good cheese steak).  I was in my happy place! Sherry got the Chicken Crepe with marina. She was smiling, so I think it was great too.

And then, we made room for the desserts! Sherry had a strawberry dish was that was, as she said "light and sweet." I had the eclair. Delish!

After lunch, I noticed they had some gluten free desserts, so I talked to Maida a bit and mentioned my husband can only eat gluten free foods. She told me they can make any crepe gluten free, with a half hour notice, and that their soups are already gluten free. Guess where I am taking my husband.

Restaurant Week ends Thursday, so you still have time to try Crepe Heaven for lunch or dinner. Get outside that comfort zone and support a wonderful local business. To look at participating eateries and their menu's visit here.
