The Binghamton Police have released the name of the man who was hit and killed in front of Tom’s Cards and Gifts on Main St. in Binghamton late yesterday afternoon. Our sister station, WNBF’s Bob Joseph reports the victim was 47-year-old Ronald Richard.

If you didn’t hear about this by now, Richard was struck by a car and dragged underneath it for a distance until the car came to a stop in the parking lot of Tom’s Cards and Gifts. WNBF is also reporting that the woman driving the car that struck Richard, 36-year-old Jennifer Grenchus of Vestal, has been arrested and charged with Second-degree manslaughter.

Emergency personnel, as well as witnesses, flipped Grenchus’ car to try and free the Richard who was pinned underneath.

I can’t even imagine what he went through. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.I also applaud the good Samaritans that helped the cops and rescue workers flip the car.
