There apparently were no injuries in the incident early Saturday afternoon. Investigators were canvassing a section of Susquehanna Street just east of Carroll Street,

Police at the scene around 2:30 p.m. would not comment on what had happened. People who live nearby also declined to comment.

A city police canine unit was used to search an area behind an apartment building at 114 Susquehanna Street. Investigators also were searching a yard in the area of 20 Carroll Street, just north of Route 363.

Detectives interviewed people who appeared to be American Red Cross volunteers who were in the neighborhood distributing smoke detectors at the time shots were heard.

The latest incident happened near the scene of a shooting on Easter morning. In that case, a man was shot several times as he sat in a parked car near the Yellow Deli at 121 Susquehanna Street.
