A Binghamton man is under indictment on five felony counts for allegedly trying to kill his girlfriend during a domestic incident in May.

The Broome County District Attorney's Office says 45 year old Shannon Callahan has been indicted by a Grand Jury on attempted murder, two counts of assault, aggravated criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon.

Callahan was seen walking away from his girlfriend's Chapin Street apartment May 22nd after police found the woman at 7:39 p.m. with her throat slashed several times by a razor.

Police said the 35 year old woman managed to flee to a neighbor's apartment to summon authorities.

According to Police, the woman said Callahan pinned her down and slashed her with  a box-cutter, telling her she was going to die.

The D.A.'s office says there was an active order of protection against Callahan at the time of the alleged attack.
