A Binghamton man is accused of seizing an unlawful opportunity by grabbing a wallet belonging to an employee of the Price Chopper supermarket in the Town of Chenango.

New York State Police say 58 year old Mitchell Delegato is charged with petit larceny.

The employee said he bought some items at the end of his shift, using a self check-out lane but forgot his wallet at the end of the purchase, leaving it behind.

Investigators say they determined Delegato took the wallet.  They managed to track him down and arrested him at 10:15 a.m. March 20.

Delegato is to appear in Town of Chenango Court later this month.
