Binghamton Hosts a Groundbreaking Pageant

Did you know that the average woman in this country is a size 14? Not a 2 or a 0 as many models are. A size 14.

Marilyn Monroe was a size 14. Adele, Queen Latifah, Christina Hendricks, Mariah Carey, and Serena Williams are all curvy ladies.

Binghamton is about to celebrate curves with the Miss Big, Beautiful and Bold 2014 Pageant. Being big, beautiful and bold myself, I love this event!

I didn't know this pageant existed, but here it is...celebrating its 5th year on Saturday at the Doubletree by Hilton in Binghamton.

The pageant is a competition, but it also is a great example of how women should not be intimidated into trying to be a size zero. Plus sized women face rejection and bullying throughout their lives, so it's time to break stereotypes. Did you know that most thin women on magazine covers are "thinned" by photoshopping?

Plus sized women are just as intelligent, talented and beautiful as any other sized women. And guys, I might add that you are increasingly feeling the pressure of not being six-packed, so I think you can relate.
