Binghamton Gets Water Quality Grant

Water upgrades for Binghamton are getting $13 million in a New York State grant for water and sewer infrastructure work.

Governor Andrew Cuomo recently announced safe water funding initiatives.

The local money is earmarked for the continued work at the Binghamton/Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Plant and water treatment facilities.

City officials say the support will lessen the burden on local ratepayers for capital projects.
