The man widely regarded as Binghamton's foremost coffee aficionado has taken his expertise to a new venue.

Coe Young opened Laveggio Roasteria at a downtown site on Court Street in 2007. The coffee house and roasting facility moved to a new location on State Street about a decade later.

Laveggio's Facebook page now features a photo of Young working at Batch Coffee in Chenango Bridge. The caption reads: "You might recognize the man behind the glass roasting coffee every day at Batch. It’s Coe Young formerly of Laveggio Roasteria."

Young and his wife, Mary Ann Magazzi-Young, who co-owned Laveggio, could not be reached for comment. Batch Coffee representatives also were unavailable.

A sign posted in the entrance of Laveggio's State Street roasting facility thanked customers for their support. It added that Mary Ann and Coe "look forward to providing you with the same high quality, hand roasted coffee you've enjoyed from Laveggio."

Batch Coffee, which is owned by the partners in Beer Tree Brew Co., opened for business last month.

Laveggio-branded items remain in the display window of the shop, which was closed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The company's website "the coffee roasting side of our business has become our sole means of survival."

The building owner said Laveggio's lease at the downtown Binghamton site has not expired.
