If there’s one thing our local firefighters enjoy, it’s a little friendly rivalry to benefit a good cause. Binghamton area firefighters are preparing to face off once again in the Battle of the Bravest which will happen on Sunday, March 19th as Broome County Fire takes on Binghamton Fire.

What began as a small game of ice hockey on a little pond a couple years ago has grown into something much bigger and our community is to thank for helping this event grow because you've stood behind those who protect us and their mission to raise money for a good cause.

The goal of those participating in Battle of the Bravest is to raise funds, with 100% of the donations to be given to the Retired Professional Fire Fighters Cancer Fund. The money will go help with ‘finding a definitive cure for cancers closely associated with, but not limited to firefighters.’

So, if you and your family are looking for something to do on Sunday, March 19th and you'd like to do support the men and women who've bravely protected our community but now need help themselves, a monetary donation of your choice will get you in the doors at the Ice House Sports Complex (you may know it by its former name, Chenango Ice Rink) on River Road in Chenango Bridge for the Battle of the Bravest.

The fun will kick off at 2:45pm with raffles, auctions, and a 50/50. You can also enjoy food and drink at the Fire and Ice Bar. Puck drop is at 3:30pm. If you can’t make it to Battle of the Bravest, but want to make a donation, you can do that here.
