Big Wally Eats at Czech Pleeze for Restaurant Week

Today I get to sample some fine ethnic food from a local restaurant that I have seen a couple of times on Robinson Street in Binghamton.  It's called CZECH PLEEZE.

Our area is rich with Eastern European traditions and foods, and today I get to sample some Slovak delicacies.

Czech Pleeze is located across from the old Cameo Theater on Robinson Street in Binghamton, and features homemade Halushka, Holubpki, Pirohi and more. I am getting hungry just thinking about it!

Tomorrow, I will report back on one of Greater Binghamton's participants in this Restaurant Week. Not only am I envisioning a great experience, but a portion of the proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club.

A recipe handed down from my Mom. Fresh Cabbage wrapped around a wonderful beef and rice mixture, lightly seasoned and cooked in an Old World Style of Sauerkraut and Tomato sauce

2 City Chicken:
An old Binghamton favorite of seasoned Pork and Chicken cubes skewered on a stick, breaded and pan seared, then baked to a crispy golden brown.

3 Pirohi:
3 folded and crimped Pasta Pockets filled with Potato and Cheese or a cooked Cabbage filling and smothered with sauteed Butter and Onions

Halushka:
Egg Noodles served with sauteed butter and onions, sliced cabbage and plenty of garlic and spices.

Spicy Mac N' Cheese:
This is good stuff! Hearty Macaroni with a rich creamy three cheese sauce including a bit of Queso cheese to give this dish a little kick

Macaroni Salad:
Macaroni and Egg salad mixed with fresh veggies and made right here in our kitchen. No tubbed stuff here folks!

Potato Salad:
Made with large fresh potato and eggs with a little zing to the flavor. A customer favorite.
