A woman riding her bicycle to work was hit by a car on Front Street in Binghamton.

The 40-year-old woman sustained an apparent ankle injury when she was struck by the vehicle around 8:20 a.m. Monday.

The incident happened at the intersection of Front and North streets on the city's West Side.

Police at the scene said they believed the woman's injuries were minor. She was taken by the city fire department ambulance to Binghamton General Hospital for treatment.

Authorities expected the driver of the car would be cited but it was not immediately known what tickets were issued.
