We've all received those calls or e-mails promising money, free products and act now or lose out on this great product.

It's called telemarketing fraud and most, if not all of these type of offers, are scams.

Many of us know when it's a fraud, but there are also many across the country who have fallen for these scams and they ended up to be very costly.

Some things to think about when receiving a call or email with that amazing deal:

  • Do you know the person or company represented?
  • Is the offer a limited time, meaning you have to act now or lose out?
  • Are you asked to send money?
  • Does the caller state that the offer is completely free or you just won something free, like a cruise?

That's just a few things to remember. The truth of these 'too-good-to-be-true' offers are most likely slim to none, and as the saying goes "Slim is out of town."
