The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team defeated the CSUN Matadors 70-65 to win the consolation round of the Cancun Challenge this (Wednesday) afternoon.  Binghamton trailed 31-26 at the half as the Bearcats struggled shooting the ball in the first ten minutes of action.  BU turned the play to its favor in the second half and outscored the Matadors 44-34 in the second 20 minutes.

The Bearcats had standout efforts all around as they upped their record to 2-4.  The Matadors fall to 1-4 with the loss.

J.C. Show scored a team-high 17 points for Binghamton.  Standout center Thomas Bruce notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Fard Muhammad fired in nine points including a pair of three-point shots.  Point guard Timmy Rose helped clinch it for the Bearcats as he hit back-to-back three point shots and finished with nine points in the contest.

The Bearcats travel home on Thanksgiving Day and prepare to host Hartwick at 2:00 PM on Sunday.  Air at 1:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
