My favorite time of the year is Summer, not only because of the (usually) warm and sunny weather, but because from May to late October, I get to spend many weekends and vacations at a campground.

About an hour drive from home, this campground is nestled in the beautiful Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Since I live in a city, spending time in the country surrounded by picturesque scenery, friends from all around Northeastern Pennsylvania, and Southern Tier of New York, farmland and cows, is no less than awesome.

This past weekend, I joined some good friends for one last get together around the campfire. Listening to everyone talking about the great times we had this season, combined with updates about what's going on in their lives, while enjoying a few of my favorite beverages next to a roaring fire, it reminded me just how much I will miss it all over the next six months.

Most of my life is devoted to radio and as a mobile DJ (and I love it), but to get to step back and enjoy a distraction as simple as spending weekends in a campground with family and friends, is a really good thing. Every year we get to meet new friends, some who have been there for a long time, and some who are in their first year camping.

As the fire died out and everyone headed back to their respective camper, I slowly walked back to mine. I spent the slow walk looking up at a cloudless night, sky full of stars that you don't see living in the city. I felt sad the season was over, but happy that in 6 short months, the calendar will read May 1st, 2016, and we'll all get to pick back up where we left off.
