Alice’s Restaurant for Thanksgiving

It's 99.1 The Whale's annual Thanksgiving tradition, and we're not about to stop now.

Thanksgiving is all about , well, giving thanks. And with that, there's getting together with family and friends, dinner and maybe some football. Oh yea, some of you may wander out to begin holiday shopping. But we have one more thing to add to your Thanksgiving.

I've been at The Whale for just over 33 years, and this tradition, as far as I know, began before I arrived here. That means it's been around 35 years or so that we have aired Arlo Guthrie's classic, Alice's Restaurant Massacree in it's entirety of 18 minutes and 12 seconds on Thanksgiving day.

We also want to make sure you get to enjoy this gem, so that's why we air it 3 times on Thanksgiving Day - around 7:15am, 12:15pm and 6:15pm, give or take a few minutes.
