My dog Cocoa is pretty smart but sometimes she pushes her boundaries, like a kid, to see what she can get away with. The first thing I do is tell her "no", in my typical high pitch. Unfortunately, I am doing a key thing wrong. Or so Woman's World says.

This may explain why both kids and pets listen to men more, too. So don't feel bad ladies!

Animals obey their alpha male in a pack. That leader has a lower voice register than the others. So, if you lower your voice down by about two octaves, your dog should obey you. it makes sense that if you talk the same way to your kids, instead of the higher pitched yelling we normally do, the kids will listen.

I just want to know where our high pitched yelling/shrieking thing came from then. I got really good at it!  Hmmm.
