In wake of recent high-profile suicides, director of the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier, Keith Leahy speaks on the weekly, local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up about the similarities and differences between adult and child suicides.

Many people have preconceived opinions about suicides and the reasons behind a decision to take action on suicidal thoughts and Leahy provides very a very perspective insight on the issue.

Leahy says a lot of attention has been given to teen suicide with efforts like teen mental health awareness and training and the "Do it for Daron" campaign locally but people should not forget the struggles a large number of adults are facing when it comes to mental health issues and suicide.

People who are facing their own demons and the people around them both need to be aware of resources available and understand the pressures associated with depression and anxiety,
