Tuesday afternoon, The Binghamton Devils hosted a fundraising golf tournament for Achieve. It was held at Endwell Greens in Endwell. Each foursome had a member of the Binghamton Devils join their team. My wife Chris and I played on a team with one of my co-workers Glen Pitcher and his father. Our pro was rookie right winger Nathan Bastian. Nathan scored a goal in Binghamton's debut game Saturday night at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.

The tournament itself was awesome. It included lunch, dinner, golf, and a goodie bag, which included a Binghamton Devils shirt for everyone. There were plenty of coolers on the course filled with soda, beer, and water, to keep us hydrated all day long. Not to mention all the snacks on the course and hot dogs and burgers at the turn. They had some awesome sports memorabilia that they auctioned off with proceeds going to Achieve. Achieve helps people in our area with developmental disabilities.

We finished at 4 under which wasn't too bad considering that Nate has only golfed a couple times in his life, and he hasn't played at all this year. And the rest of us were not at the top of our game either. But if you are looking for a fun golf tournament to play in next year, I highly suggest this one. It was a lot of fun and it was all for a great cause.
