While many of us were enjoying the weekend, spending time with our families and various weekend things, Nepal was hit with a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that killed thousands of people on Saturday.

The search continues for more victims that may be buried under the rubble of buildings and avalanches along Mount Everest, and the other seven mountain peaks that are contained within the country.

The aftershocks continue to rock that area, forcing resident to sleep in open fields, away from the buildings and mountains.

Nepal is compared to the size of Arkansas, and is one of the poorest countries in the world, with more than 25% of its population living below the poverty level.

The American Red Cross is working with Nepal as these people will need lots of help with medical care, water, food and shelter.

I for one will be donating to the American Red Cross and I encourage you to do what you can to help these people.

American are the most blessed people on this planet and when we see devastation like this, we help others in this world.

This link below will take you to the American Red Cross Page where you can make a donation if you so choose.

All of us here at 99.1 The Whale are keeping Nepal in our thoughts, as they go through this terrible tragedy.
