June 29th, 1968 a free concert was held in London's Hyde Park. Never before had a free concert been held there.

The lineup included T-Rex, Jethro Tull, and Pink Floyd among others. It was during this time that Pink Floyd had released 'A Saucerful Of Secrets' in the United Kingdom. The U.S. release didn't happen until a month later. The album was recorded and contains songs from both Syd Barrett and newcomer David Gilmore.

Pink Floyd was in the midst of a February to December 1968 world tour at the time featuring Rick Wright, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and David Gilmore. For this particular stop at Hyde Park in London, Roy Harper joined the band on stage.
