Seems there may be some new stories we can tell our children's children, toss out the 6 feet of snow and walking to school up hill both ways. How about the Polar Vortex and -13 temperatures with wind chills of 20 below plus.

I was pumping gas this morning on my way in to work around 3:30a, and the air was so cold on my hands I actually had to switch hands twice.

One listener from Bainbridge called in to tell me it was -13 and it had been -19 in the past.

So how do we deal with this new polar vortex? I mean they deal with it in Alaska, Antarctica and Russia.

Newark Valley and Richford had some power outages last night and people were going to the store for kerosene and gas for their generators

I guess the key is to be prepared.

Proper antifreeze mixture in your vehicle, portable car battery charger.. warm clothing, generator,...flashlights, food and water. And how about the lost art of neighbor helping neighbor? I think when acts of God occur,  people step up and help each one another, especially from what we have experienced here with flooding.

I have a feeling in my chilled bones that we will have more of this in winters to come.

Stay warm my friend
